Most Mac users definitely have their computers and laptops loaded up with content like music and movies, and the EyeConnect program is a great way that you can stream and share this media on other devices.

Overview of EyeConnect

There have been many times where you've wanted to share a movie with your family and friends, or listen to your music in another location on a better system, but the hassle of transferring those large files from your computer is just too much to deal with. This is where the EyeConnect program for Mac comes in to save the day. By connecting and running this program on your Mac, you can locate any compatible outlet (TV, stereo, another computer, etc) and display your media there by streaming it. It works just like any other media server, only in a sleeker package that's easier to use.

This is basically just a media server that was created specifically for the Mac and Mac OS X systems. It was created by Elgato and will actually cost you for the full version. You can use the trial version to see if it's worth your money, but you won't get the full range of features unless you purchase it. All of the language on the program is English only.

How EyeConnect Works

Media servers are a dime a dozen, but what you might notice about EyeConnect right away is that it actually finds more compatible devices for you. Most media servers are two-way systems, like a PlayStation server from your computer to your PS device. This is a media server that acts more like Bluetooth, so when you open up the screen and scan, you will find any device in range that's compatible. This means most smart TVs, new stereos and docking systems, and more.

To operate the program, you're going to work with your UpnP in order to detect devices. This could be game consoles, and everything mentioned above. Once it finds them, you simply have to click to connect, and you won't have to go through all the rigmarole of programming the devices by installing the program on them. You can simply stream your media.

EyeConnect Features

There are a whole lot of features, but the features EyeConnect does have are very clean and attractive. One feature you might need to learn a bit about are the ports offered. Ports are the channels, so to speak, through which you will stream and broadcast media from your Mac. So you'll want to ensure that you're going through the proper port. The program has instructions to walk you through this.

Another cool feature is that the program offers you a library, so you can actually arrange everything you want to stream inside of the program. This is ideal for playlists or certain installments in television series or movies. You can arrange them so they play in order.
